Eric Chan, Managing Director

Eric Chan is a co-founder and Managing Director of Aura Group.

Prior to establishing Aura Group, Eric practiced as a solicitor at Clayton Utz, a high-ranking Australian law firm. At Clayton Utz, Eric focused on the area of debt finance including syndicated loan facilities, project financing and acquisition financing, and had been exposed to deals in excess of AUD$1 billion.

Eric has a broad range of experience within the areas of corporate, private equity and banking and finance law. He has been involved in many high-profile transactions, including a $340 million takeover of a wine club business, a $575 million acquisition of a leading Australian services provider to the mining, oil & gas and infrastructure sectors, a $2.7 billion recapitalisation of a leading Australian energy infrastructure company and a $550 million construction finance facility for a 45 storey property construction. Eric is a solicitor admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of NSW, the High Court of Australia and a member of the Law Society of NSW.

Eric is a graduate of the University of Technology Sydney and holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Laws.

He also holds a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking) and an MFAA Anti Money Laundering/Counter Terrorism Finance Act Accreditation.
